Had a great weekend with the wife. We went to the zoo on Saturday and became members of it. We go there enough that it seemed worth doing since the membership will pay for itself in just over two visits and we do at least that many visits in the year membership period.
Then Sunday came around and a very large Lego project was tackled. This time it was an Imperial Flagship and it turned out to be huge. This thing is two and a half feet long and two feet tall all told. It has full rigging and sails and a lot of little details scattered around. My wife even joined in by building a small set of Pirates of the Caribbean stuff to add to the ship so now it has two Jack Sparrows on it with his extras as well as the rest of the crew.
Also this morning I saw the news that the guy who played Spartacus had died. He died of the exact same form of cancer that my friend has and my friend is now in complete remission and finishing up his last round of chemo. Strange how vastly different the end result can be, one person died within 18 months, the other has the rest of a normal life to look forward to.
