Grrrr, found out today I'm missing one vital component in order to tow the caravan. As part of th tow kit installed I was told the brake controller would be hooked up. Seems they didn't supply one so I need to get one fitted. All the wiring is there but nothing is connected to it.
The brake controller is kind of important, it tells the trailer to apply the electric brakes when slowing down. Without it the trailer is just free rolling. Luckily I found this out before we have done any long trips although it shows how bloody good the brakes on our SUV are since it stopped when doing the test tow with no struggle. That is over 10000 lbs of weight being brought to a stop, a heck of a lot of mass to slow.
Still I shouldn't have to be dealing with this if the fucking dealer had installed what I asked or told me up front they couldn't supply the brake controller.
