I've not written about games for a while since it is the quiet period in the summer when not many new games come out at all. I did get a couple of older games for my birthday, Killzone 3 and Two worlds 2 both games which came out earlier this year but didn't get a chance to try back then.
Killzone is quite an improvement over it's predecessor which I also played, especially visually. There was a trailer released several years ago that was a "target render" but was advertised as gameplay. It looked bloody good. Killzone 2 came close to that but Killzone 3 is pretty much that. The effects they use to build the visuals really show off what can be achieved with the "current" technology even at limited screen resolutions. As for the gameplay it is very satisfying as far as a FPS goes. Only a couple of annoying sections on the normal difficulty level so a run through at the hardest level may be required. I just wish they could get some characters that are less generic and annoying "dude bro" type guys for this type of game.
Two world 2 is something I wanted to try since it has all sorts of interesting and fun mechanisms in the game even if the actual implementation of the game is a little glitchy. Nothing game breaking so far but the odd visual glitch or audio cutting short during conversations. The game itself though runs and plays well and the stuff I have done so far shows that it could take quite a while to go through which is always a good thing. I plan to play this game a fair bit more over the coming weeks before the glut of games that always comes out at the end of the year starts.
So there we go, boring game updated done. Now you can all wait for the exciting Lego update about all the Lego I've been building recently.
