Well that was relatively painless, called up comcast, told them the cable modem was dead. They agreed since they didn't even see it on the line even though it was powered on and connected. Drove down to the local office down the road, 3 minutes later I walk out with a new modem. Get home, plug it in and a 4 minute phone call later the internet is back. If only fixing everything was this easy.
