Managed to get a lot of work done today but still a pile a mile high left to do. I have enough work to keep going for something like 3 or 4 months before I would be done with what is on my plate. Not that this amount of work is out of the ordinary around here at the moment, there are a lot of new things we want to get in to the product now it is released that people are asking for.
Only 3 more days left of the noisy ex coworker who is working here on a contract before he goes to work at Apple. From the sounds of his complaining of the cost of housing near Apple though he won't be getting paid a huge amount just more than he earned here. Makes me glad I earn what I do here as compared to some other people. He does have a point in that $2000 a month rent for a one bedroom apartment is quite a lot but some of the best schools in the state are in Cupertino so it is not surprising. I think myself and my other cube neighbours will be enjoying the quiet from next week onwards.
Just thinking that this time in 2 weeks we will be at my parents house in England trying to stay awake from jetlag and getting ready to go visit our nephew. Going to be so weird being back there after so many years even though we both still consider ourselves British people that just happen to have lived in another country for 13 plus years.
Time for a little bit more design work before I get out of here and call it another day of work done. Feels good sometimes to finish work at the time I do when other people are barely half way through their day.
