Random question I couldn't find a answer to

I had a visit to the dentist the other day, just for a check up and cleaning. I've got good teeth, they are all there (other than 4 I had removed since I didn't have enough room in my mouth for all of them if you can believe that), no fillings and only one cap where a tooth got broken from being punched in the mouth. One tooth is slightly crooked but that is a leftover from having not enough room in my mouth.

When I moved to this country one sterotype I found out about that I was completely unaware of is that all British people have bad teeth. I was kind of dumbfounded by this when I heard it since in the UK all children while at school get free dental care so they are very well looked after. Obviously you get people who don't brush/floss etc that still have problems but you are cared for properly until you are an adult.

My mission today then after lunch became to try and find out where this stereotype came from and for the life of me I could not find an answer. That is an answer on the all knowing internet since that is clearly the fountain of all knowledge and if it doesn't exist on the internet then it doesn't exist at all.

Just one of those things in life that makes you go "where the hell did that come from".
